Norris and Katie Millhorn have been homesteading for decades, but even living rurally (where you'd expect to find other homesteaders), they didn't realize how isolated they were from others actually living this lifestyle. While you might meet other backyard vegetable gardeners or chicken keepers, it's rare to find someone who is also preserving their food, making as much as they can from scratch and understands the excellent benefits of pasture-raised protein, grows and creates their families herbal medicine to fellowship with let alone learn from.
While homesteading is about sustainability, it's also about community, supporting one another, and learning from those who have gone before you. That's why we're inviting you to the first annual Modern Homesteading Conference, because we know how important it is to be in person, both for learning but also for your heart.

Friday & Saturday, July 10th & 11th 2026 – Church family, I want to make you aware of an exciting event coming this July called YOU BELONG 2026—a valley-wide evangelism outreach bringing churches together with one mission: reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It kicks off Friday, July 10th at 6:00 PM here at Cowboy Church Bow with training, planning, and prayer. Then on Saturday, we’ll gather at 9:30 AM for prayer, head out into our community from 10:00 AM to Noon to share the love of Christ, and then come back that evening at 6:00 PM for a powerful worship and testimony service.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of sharing your faith but didn’t know where to start—this is a great opportunity to get equipped and step out with others. Let’s come together with the broader body of Christ in the Skagit Valley and pray that God would bring in a great harvest.

May 2, 2027 – Our very own Marik Doussard is finishing his College Education and will be graduating on May 2nd 2027! Amy and I will be in attendance there at Concordia College. Couldn’t be more proud of this young man!! What an accomplishment! Way to go Marik!
